Mother’s Day Gift Guide

PSA: MOTHER’S DAY IS THIS SUNDAY!

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and if you’re fancying treating your mum to something more than flowers and chocs (well check you out money bags) this year I’ve rounded a few shows that I think would be perfect to take your mum or the mother like figure in your life too!

Whether they’re your step mum, adoptive mum, your friends mum, bloodline mum or your Aunty, Mum’s, as a general rule, are pretty fab.

Come from Away

Full of both laughter and tears Come From Away is the perfect antidote to this messed up world. A truly inspiring musical, Come From Away ticks all the right boxes, with a stellar cast and amazing songs what more could you want!

Emilia

This new play is here for the ladies! Turning history on its head Emilia shines a light onto Emilia Lanier/Bassano who was the first woman to be a published poet! The whole cast, and creative team, is female led so this is the ultimate feminist show, perfect for any mum who sometimes forgets that she’s a bad ass!

Waitress

A musical that is centred around a pregnant women may be a bit obvious but Waitress is one of my most favourite musicals. It’s touchingly poignant and hilariously funny.  This musical not only celebrates friendship but also the power of motherhood and how lucky we are to have such wonderful women in our lives!

If you and your mum aren’t the types to share the details of your love lives with each other you may want to miss this one out… (you’ll know what I mean when you see it!)

These are just a few suggestions (without going into the obvious ones like Mamma Mia! or Magic Mike), but I hope that this gets your gift idea juices flowing!

Till Next Time,

Abigail xx
