Mother’s Day is just around the corner and if you’re fancying treating your mum to something more than flowers and chocs (well check you out money bags) this year I’ve rounded a few shows that I think would be perfect to take your mum or the mother like figure in your life too!
On Tuesday lunchtime the 2019 Olivier Award nominations were announced! As one of the most important dates in the theatre calendar, the Olivier’s are a preetttyyyy big deal, so I wanted to share my Olivier Award Nomination reaction!
On Monday night Come From Away (new favourite musical) opened in the West End. Having seen the show the Saturday just before I was excited to read all the glowing reviews that we’re sure to appear, as I think it’s the best musical since Hamilton (move over Miranda).
Ho hum, Valentine’s Day is here again! Is it a day to celebrate love or is it is just a marketing construct, whatever way you want to look at it, Valentine’s Day isn’t going anywhere.
Welcome to my first review of not only 2019 but of my new series, My Stagey Year! I knew nothing about Aspects of Love before seeing it, I knew it was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber but that was about it. In hindsight perhaps it would have been good to have read a synopsis before entering the performance space as it may have saved me some of the confusion that I felt for the majority of the first act. That being said, Aspects of Love is probably one of the most confusing, boring and far fetched musical I have ever seen.

2019 has just begun which means it’s time to set some New Year resolutions!

Merry Christmas theatre lovers! 2018 is almost over (shock!) and it’s about this time everyone starts to reflect on the past year. So I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon and share my top five shows of 2018!

I’m Not Running tells the story of Pauline, a Midlands GP who is shoved into the limelight when she fights to save her local hospital from closing. Becoming a figurehead for the NHS Pauline stands alone in Westminster as an Independent MP. However as she gains popularity the question of whether she will run as a candidate for the Labour Party leadership begins to pull her further into the political throng.
