It’s true going to the theatre is getting more and more expensive by the minute, but fortunately the ever rising expense means that more theatres and ticket sellers are offering theatre goers opportunities to get cut price tickets.
I really do believe that London is at its best at Christmas. I may be biased, but when those twinkling lights begin to shine, and the smell of mulled wine mixes with the car fumes… (nice), London really does shine. But London is expensive at the best of times and with everyone spending a small fortune on presents and travel at Christmas you may be put off to spend any money experiencing London during the winter months. So it was the 2018 Evening Standard Awards last night. A glittery evening in the theatre calendar where the creme de la creme of the West End are praised and awarded for their efforts. As I was reading the winner for Best Musical I was not surprised when I saw that Hamilton got the award, and it got me thinking, is that fair?
Poor Girls Guide To Theatre is a place when I will be sharing my opinions on theatre in all its glory, and some times, ugliness. From writing to reviews to sharing my thoughts on the latest news I’ll be diving in deep into the industry that I love so much.
