Review: Aspects of Love – Southwark Playhouse

Welcome to my first review of not only 2019 but of my new series, My Stagey Year! I knew nothing about Aspects of Love before seeing it, I knew it was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber but that was about it. In hindsight perhaps it would have been good to have read a synopsis before entering the performance space as it may have saved me some of the confusion that I felt for the majority of the first act. That being said, Aspects of Love is probably one of the most confusing, boring and far fetched musical I have ever seen.

Tis The Season To Be Broke – London At Christmas If You’re On A Budget

I really do believe that London is at its best at Christmas. I may be biased, but when those twinkling lights begin to shine, and the smell of mulled wine mixes with the car fumes… (nice), London really does shine. Review: I’m Not Running at The National Theatre (Lyttelton)

I’m Not Running tells the story of Pauline, a Midlands GP who is shoved into the limelight when she fights to save her local hospital from closing. Becoming a figurehead for the NHS Pauline stands alone in Westminster as an Independent MP. However as she gains popularity the question of whether she will run as a candidate for the Labour Party leadership begins to pull her further into the political throng.
